Android Developers! Sick of working on stock-standard apps?
Boy oh boy, have we got the absolutely-couldn’t-get-less-standard opportunity for you!
About the role:
Work on one of the most interesting apps you’ll probably ever lay your eyes on (Hint: it involves lasers!) The app runs on bespoke devices that you can play with in order to get your head around them!
The app uses photogrammetry (we had to google it too…) to change the way their customers do their work, for the better. The work you’ll be doing keeps people from harm's way and helps them move on from the monotony of doing work the old fashioned way.
There's a big focus on AI Machine learning that comes from the device output.
About the team:
You’ll work with an Agile team that has a variety of different skill bases (software development, AI machine learning, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, user interface design, etc).
Sounds serious – but they’re always up for a game of Foosball, a mountain bike ride or popping out of their CBD office to grab lunch. They’re a close team that encourages individuality and self-expression.
About you:
You’ll be self-motivated and highly skilled in modern mobile development, with a mind for maths, science, and the techy stuff.
You’ll also be:
Able to deliver high-quality systems that are testable, maintainable and fit for purpose. (Android testing frameworks e.g.: Mockito, Junit)
A positive communicator
Experienced working in an Agile team
The must-haves:
3+ years of commercial experience in a native Android development role using Java
Experience with RESTful APIs
Experience with Android Architecture components
Experience with Git, and Continuous Integration tools.
Knowledge of Android application performance and lifecycle (fragments, androidx, jetpack)
The nice-to-haves:
Experience with modern web technologies, client and server-side
Interested in modern frameworks
Linux, shell scripting, AWS & Docker
Typescript, NodeJS, RESTful APIs
Experience with sensors or android camera in the past (amazing-to-have!)
