Core Purpose & Focus

Applied Data & Product Integration: Deliver product features on top of data foundations designed by the data engineering team, connecting backend, frontend (web), and data layers.
Data-Focused Fullstack Role: While covering fullstack development, the role specifically encourages deep focus in the data engineering space.
Team Structure: Sits at an intermediate-to-senior level (3-6+ years of experience), reporting to the Development/Engineering Lead with no direct reports.

Technical Requirements

Languages & Frontend/Backend: Production experience with Java, Python, TypeScript, and Angular.
Data Engineering & APIs: Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes using Python and PySpark, alongside developing clean APIs.
Cloud & Databases (AWS): Hands-on AWS experience with Lambda, Glue, DynamoDB, and RDS, along with solid understanding of data persistence.
Testing & DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps best practices, and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, and Cypress.
Methodology: Practical experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Key Responsibilities & Soft Skills

Collaboration & Mentorship: Engage in pair programming, conduct thorough PR reviews, and provide constructive technical feedback.
Product & Domain Empathy: Translate user/business requirements into functional code while considering real-world public transit network impact.
Communication: Present well-structured, data-informed written narratives and collaborate effectively across product, design, DevOps, and security teams.
