We're working with a SaaS company that's looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join their mobile team.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have a genuine say in technical decisions and help shape the future direction of their Android platform. You'll be working closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build and improve mobile products used by thousands of customers.
While the role is primarily focused on native Android development, there is also an opportunity to get involved with iOS development if that's something you'd like to learn or expand your experience in.
What you'll be doing

While the role is primarily focused on native Android development, there is also an opportunity to get involved with iOS development if that's something you'd like to learn or expand your experience in.
What you'll be doing
- Building and maintaining native Android applications using Kotlin
- Helping drive technical decisions and contributing to the architecture and direction of the mobile platform
- Working closely with the wider product team to deliver new features and enhancements
- Taking ownership of features from initial concept through to release and ongoing support
- Writing clean, scalable, and well-tested code
- Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge across the team
- Mentoring other engineers and contributing to engineering best practices
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to understand problems and deliver practical solutions
- Strong commercial experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin
- Experience working at a senior level and contributing to technical decision-making
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices
- A strong focus on code quality, testing, and maintainability
- Experience working in agile product teams
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- NZ citizenship, residency, or a valid NZ work visa
- Experience with native iOS development using Swift
- Experience with Jetpack Compose
- Exposure to hybrid mobile applications
