Senior Data Analyst – Core Banking Transformation (2-Year Fixed Term)
Wellington, NZ | Snowflake | Power BI | SQL | Banking / Fintech

The Team
Small driven data team working across the whole bank from Credit, Product, to Marketing, IT, and the frontline. Because of this structure means you’ll work with everyone, including the CEO, as they grow the bank’s data analytics maturity and make data accessible for everyone.

You’ll deliver timely, accurate data insights that shape business decisions. Translating complex data into visual stories and help leaders quickly see what’s important and act on it.

This is a senior role  and you will be working alongside the Lead Data Analyst to identify gaps, opportunities, and build the bank’s future-ready analytics capability.

What you’ll do:
  • Translate business needs into actionable analytics, reporting, and dashboards (Power BI).
  • Support and help shape our data strategy and culture, championing data quality and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to build modern, scalable data platforms while keeping governance front-of-mind.
  • Share knowledge, mentor others, and help grow a high-performing data team.
What we’re looking for:
  • 5+ years in Data Analytics, ideally in financial services.
  • Advanced SQL skills and strong visualisation experience (Power BI or similar).
  • Experience with large datasets, dimensional models, and ideally Snowflake. Python or DBT experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, solution-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
