AI adoption inside this SaaS organisation is growing at speed. They’re building new internal tools, new customer-facing capabilities and experimenting heavily across multiple squads. To keep up, they need someone who can own the AWS infrastructure powering all of this AI work.


This isn’t a research role.
It’s a hands-on engineering position where you build, run and scale the platforms that make AI possible.


Where You’ll Make the Biggest Impact
  • Standing up secure, high-quality AI environments in AWS.
  • Deploying and supporting AI workloads using Bedrock, Bedrock Studio and SageMaker.
  • Creating scalable patterns, landing zones and automation that engineering teams rely on.
  • Working across AI, software, DevOps and product groups to unblock delivery.
  • Improving reliability, observability and compliance in a regulated environment.
  • Joining a low-frequency on-call rotation backed by a collaborative engineering team.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Strong background as a DevOps / Cloud / SRE Engineer in AWS.
  • Real-world experience with:
    • AWS Bedrock
    • Bedrock Studio
    • AWS SageMaker
  • Ability to design, deploy and support AI platform infrastructure at scale.
  • Solid grounding in AWS networking, security and architecture.
  • A practical mindset—comfortable building, troubleshooting and iterating quickly.
Bonus Strengths
  • AWS Machine Learning – Specialty certification.
  • Familiarity with RAG, vector indexing, knowledge graphs or ML pipelines.
  • Experience in regulated environments (health, finance, SaaS etc.).
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI tools.

Important Details
  • Must already hold NZ work rights – no sponsorship available.
  • Ideal locations: Wellington or Palmerston North, but strong NZ-remote applicants welcome.
  • On-call is shared, infrequent, and fully supported by the wider team.
