About the Opportunity
As Engineering Lead, you’ll be at the forefront of Keyhook’s mission to deliver robust, modern web applications. You’ll guide a talented team of developers, playing a central role in product delivery, engineering culture, and team development. With a strong foundation in React and Ruby on Rails, and a passion for clean code and modern tooling including AI, this is a chance to lead with impact while staying close to the codebase.
You’ll collaborate closely with product leadership, drive architectural decisions, embed AI-enhanced development practices, and foster a learning-driven, agile engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of engineers across multiple agile projects
Own the delivery of scalable, well-architected React/Rails applications
Guide agile processes – sprint planning, retros, standups
Align technical direction with business priorities through close collaboration with product stakeholders
Champion clean, maintainable, test-driven code and engineering excellence
Stay hands-on with architecture, code reviews, and technical problem solving
Embed automation and AI tools to streamline development workflows
Provide coaching, support, and regular 1:1s to enable team growth
Cultivate a positive, knowledge-sharing engineering culture
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience leading high-performing engineering teams
Strong proficiency in React and Ruby on Rails (or comparable full-stack experience)
Commitment to best practices: clean code, testing, and maintainability
Solid understanding of Agile and iterative delivery
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
A growth mindset and passion for mentoring others
A forward-looking approach that embraces AI and automation to boost efficiency and quality
