Key Responsibilities:

​

Update PHP Framework for WordPress Plugin:

  • Ensure seamless compatibility with the latest versions of WordPress and PHP.

  • Implement necessary changes for optimal performance.

​

Introduce a New Accessible Theme to WordPress Plugin:

  • Assess plugin UX for adherence to web accessibility standards.

  • Craft a new theme based on provided designs, prioritising accessible design principles.

  • Collaborate closely with the product and web teams for smooth implementation.

  • Enhance accessibility features through API integration.

General Bug Fixes and Maintenance:

  • Address security concerns highlighted during Pen Testing.

  • Tackle open bugs in the WordPress plugin.

  • Timebox tasks based on priority.

​

Seamless Handover to Permanent WordPress Engineer:

  • Update plugin architecture documentation and transition smoothly to the permanent WordPress Engineer.

​

Across All Tasks:

  • Ensure smooth upgrade experiences between plugin builds.

  • Test technology updates for accessibility compliance.

  • Deploy beta and release builds to the WordPress marketplace.

  • Assist customers in migrating to newer versions, offering support as needed.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in PHP/WordPress plugins and theme development.

  • Front-end development experience with a focus on accessibility.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards.

  • Familiarity with semantic HTML, and accessible web development techniques.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills and customer support experience.

  • Effective collaboration and communication abilities.

  • Experience with APIs and JSON is advantageous.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and a passion for staying abreast of the latest web technologies.
