The Opportunity
As a System Safety Engineer, you’ll take ownership of functional safety across a diverse product range. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), while working alongside experienced engineers to deliver innovative, reliable solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to expert, influencing design decisions early and seeing products through the full safety lifecycle.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading functional safety planning in line with IEC 61508
  • Running HAZID and HARA workshops and completing risk assessments
  • Performing FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and dependent failure analysis
  • Determining and allocating Safety Integrity Levels (SIL)
  • Creating and maintaining Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS)
  • Building safety cases and supporting internal and external assessments
  • Overseeing verification and validation of safety-related functions
  • Managing safety change control and configuration impacts
  • Collaborating closely with hardware, firmware, systems, QA, and operations teams
What You’ll Bring
  • A degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline (preferred but not essential)
  • At least 3 years’ experience in engineering and/or functional safety roles
  • Strong knowledge of IEC 61508 and the SIL safety lifecycle
  • Hands-on experience with FMEA, FMEDA, HARA, and FTA
  • A solid understanding of safety architecture and SIL determination
  • Confidence producing clear, high-quality technical documentation
  • The ability to obtain and maintain security clearances
